Heat stress: When an animal is unable to maintain a thermoneutral state, causing their core temperature to increase above a normal temperature due to an increase in internal heat production and inability to dissipate heat effectively. Heat stress can impact animal health, welfare, production and may even lead to death (Das et al., 2016).
