EURCAW Ruminants & Equines has published two factsheets on Fitness for Transport. The thematic factsheet on fitness for transport outlines legal requirements for the transport of ruminants and equines, as well as areas to focus on during inspections. The indicator factsheet provides recommendations for bovines, which includes indications of injury, physiological weakness, and pathological processes. The factsheet also contains a pain scoring table. The factsheets are currently available in English and work is in progress to translate them into other European languages. Additional indicator factsheets covering equids and small ruminants are in progress.
