I'm a Professor of Animal Welfare at the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine. At UCD I teach vet students and have been involved in a range of animal welfare research projects - most recently the management of acutely injured bovines. With colleagues in the UK and Australia, a new project is soon to start on vet ethics - exploring the impact on vet ethics teaching with supporting graduate vets with navigating ethical challenges.
Since 2021 I have had the pleasure of working with EURCAW Ruminants & Equines, leading the Dissemination & Communication activity. My professional interests are animal welfare, veterinary ethics and food ethics. I like to learn from others and hear about their professional experiences, whether this is policy workers, official inspectors, final year vet students, farmers or other stakeholders.
